Grief and Loss
Resources for Grief and Loss
Navigating the journey of loss can be particularly challenging for children and youth. As they progress through different stages of life, such as graduating from school, getting married, having their own children, or reaching the age when the loss occurred, they acquire new cognitive and relational skills. These skills enable them to develop a deeper understanding of death and its impact on themselves and their loved ones. The following are resources and guidance for parents, students and educators as they go through the complex emotions of grief. GUSD’s Student Wellness Services Department provides counseling services for students experiencing grief and loss.
