PBIS is a systemic approach to creating positive school environments so all students can achieve academically and socially. Under PBIS, schools emphasize positive and restorative approaches to student behavior.
Schools apply PBIS practices in both classroom and non-classroom settings (such as hallways, restrooms, and the cafeteria). All staff have an important role in helping students achieve positive outcomes.
GUSD works in closely with the Los Angeles County Office of Education to improve school climate and student engagement in support of our district LCAP goals. The district PBIS Leadership Team provides interactive professional development, coaching, support, and guidance to school sites.
